The Oppo Reno2 has twice as many cameras on its back than its predecessor. Thats a lot of cameras to cover, but the first promo videos will give you the crash course.
Lets start with a short 30 second clip that covers all the major features. They are hybrid zoom, video stabilization and a new dark mode.
The Reno2 does not have a periscope module, instead it relies on a zoom lens and software processing to deliver 5x hybrid zoom and 20x digital zoom (note that Oppo hasnt revealed the true focal length of the lens yet).
The main 48MP sensor is backed by optical image stabilization and features Ultra Steady Video mode on top of that.
The Oppo Reno2 leverages the NPU inside its Snapdragon 730G chipset to do image processing for the Ultra Dark Mode.
Note that Ultra Dark Mode is a new development. Its available on the Oppo Reno2 and the Reno2 Z. The Oppo Reno2 F gets the old Ultra Night Mode instead. The Ultra Steady Video is available on the Z phone as well, though without the benefit of hardware OIS.
