The Reno2 and Reno2 Z were initially unveiled in China at the end of August, and they both sport four cameras on the rear, although the exact setups differ. The Reno2, which we’ve reviewed both in writing and in video form, has a 48 MP primary sensor with OIS, a 13 MP telephoto shooter, an 8 MP ultrawide, and a 2 MP monochrome for portraits.

It’s powered by the Snapdragon 730G chipset, paired with 8GB of RAM and 128 or 256GB of storage that’s expandable through microSD. It has a 4,000 mAh battery with 20W VOOC Flash Charge 3.0 support. It runs Android 9 Pie with ColorOS 6.1 on top. The selfie camera is in a sharkfin pop-up and it’s a 16 MP unit, while the screen is a 6.5″ 1080×2400 AMOLED with Gorilla Glass 6 on top.

The Reno2 Z, on the other hand, is powered by the MediaTek Helio P90 SoC, and it also brings 8GB of RAM and 256GB of expandable storage, the same software and battery as the Reno2. Its screen is a 6.53″ 1080×2340 AMOLED with Gorilla Glass 5. The pop-up selfie cam is also a 16 MP shooter like in the Reno2, but the cameras at the rear differ slightly. The main 48 MP sensor is there but loses OIS, there’s an 8 MP ultrawide, the same 2 MP monochrome snapper, but also a 2 MP depth sensor.
