Oppo Find X5 Pro specs leak: Hasselblad and MariSilicon on board, same IMX766 sensors

Recently OnePlus started a collaboration with Hasselblad to improve the quality of its cameras. But it doesn’t have exclusivity on the brand and the cousins from Oppo will benefit too. Remember those live photos of the Oppo Find X5 Pro from last month? They showed the Hasselblad logo on the same line as the Oppo one.

They also showed a “Powered by MariSilicon” stamp on the redesigned camera bump – this is Oppo’s in-house brand for image processing chips. These will be the major camera improvements for the X5 Pro as the phone will use much of the same hardware as the X3 Pro.

This includes the two Sony IMX766 sensors (50 MP, 1/1.56”, 1.0 µm). One goes in the main camera (behind an f/1.7 lens) and the other in the ultra wide (f/2.2). The MariSilicon chip will be handling image processing in 10-bit color space as well as driving the omni-directional autofocus system as fast as possible.

The telephoto camera may be different, however. The Find X5 Pro will be equipped with a 13 MP camera with 5x hybrid zoom, according to . For comparison, the 13 MP tele camera on the X3 Pro offers only 2x optical magnification. An earlier leak also showed only 2x optical magnification for the X5 Pro, so this too may be a case of same hardware, different processing.

The front camera will almost certainly be different, though, as it should get the new IMX709 sensor from the Reno7 series, replacing the older IMX615. It will have the same 32 MP resolution and an f/2.2 lens with 90º FoV.

The electrical system will get iterative improvements too with the battery capacity growing to 5,000 mAh (from 4,500 mAh) and charging going up to 80W (from 65W). The phone will support wireless charging too, though the power is still to be determined.

The screen on the X5 Pro is expected to be largely the same with a 6.7” LTPO AMOLED with 1440p+ resolution and up to 120 Hz refresh rate. This time it will be guarded by Gorilla Glass Victus. The phone’s body, made out of aluminum and glass, will have an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance, same as before.

While the glossy Ceramic Black and Ceramic White names are just names (again, the back is glass), the phone will be thicker and heavier than its predecessor at 8.5 mm and 218g (up from 8.3 mm and 193g), in part due to the battery.

The Oppo Find X5 Pro will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset, paired with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of UFS 3.1 storage (no microSD slot). The Pro model will likely cost more than €1,200 and it will be one of three models in the family. The Lite will be a rebadged Reno7, so that leaves the vanilla Oppo Find X5, which should be powered by the Dimensity 9000. Oppo is expected to unveil the Find X5 trio towards the end of the month.
