Oppo A17k quietly debuts in India as a cheaper version of the A17

Last month, Oppo introduced the low-end A17 smartphone to the Indian market, and today we’re treated to what is essentially a variation of that model. It’s called A17k, and Oppo has quietly listed it on its Indian website for all to see.

The Oppo A17k has a 6.56-inch 720×1612 60 Hz LCD touchscreen, the MediaTek Helio G35 SoC at the helm, 3GB of RAM, 64GB of expandable storage, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a 5,000 mAh battery. There’s an 8 MP autofocus camera on the rear, and a 5 MP fixed focus snapper on the front, neither of which have OIS.

The fingerprint sensor is embedded in the power button, and the phone is IPX4 rated for splash resistance. It runs Android 12 with ColorOS 12.1 on top. You can have an A17k in Gold or Navy Blue. Compared to the already available A17, the A17k has less RAM, a lower resolution main rear camera, and no depth sensor. The color options are different too, but otherwise the two are identical, spec-wise.

The Oppo A17k is priced at INR 10,499, so it’s also cheaper than the A17, and it’s currently “coming soon” to Oppo’s Indian online store.
