Oppo A15s banner reveals key specs

A couple of months have now passed since Oppo unveiled its A15 budget handset. Enough time for the Chinese giant to already be nearly ready with a sibling for it in the A15s.

The latter device model has been spotted on Malaysia’s SIRIM certification website, as well as Singapore’s IMDA and Europe’s EEC sites, hinting at an imminent global release. Now a leaked banner for the upcoming phone offers a glimpse at its overall design, as well as some of the key specs.

It hardly comes as a surprise that the A15s appears to be outwardly identical to its vanilla A15 sibling. The ad poster specifically mentions a 6.52-inch HD+ display, which matches-up perfectly with the IPS LCD, 720 x 1600-pixel panel on the Oppo A15. Clearly, two very similar devices. The only obvious difference made clear by the poster is the 4GB of RAM and 64GB of expandable storage configuration for the A15s – higher than the 2GB or 3GB of memory and 32GB of storage, offered by the regular A15.

Since that is the case, we can maybe expect an upgrade to a more-powerful chipset, as well. Probably another MediaTek Helio unit, better than the P35. There’s no mention of that in the poster, though. Still, it is a relatively safe assumption to make. So is the likelihood of the A15s borrowing its camera setup directly from the vanilla model, which includes a 13MP primary camera alongside a 2MP macro and 2MP depth modules on the back and a 5MP selfies snapper, housed in a waterdrop notch. The 4,230mAh battery pack is also likely to be carried forward.

While there is no word on pricing or availability of the Oppo A15s yet, we fully expect it to be similarly-priced to the vanilla variant, as well. The latter launched at INR 10,990 ($150) MSRP. As per the poster, Indian buyers will also enjoy 5% cashback, by using one of a few mentioned bank cards.
