OnePlus Ace 2 coming with a dedicated power management chip for its 5,000 mAh battery

OnePlus is launching the Ace 2 in China next week, as the Chinese doppelganger of the OnePlus 11R. Today, the company shared more details about the upcoming phone with a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset.

In a series of posts on Weibo, OnePlus revealed the Ace 2 will come with an Oppo SuperVOOC S power management chip and will also have a custom display chip for improved image rendering and refresh rate, offloading some of the work from the Qualcomm SoC.

The Ace 2 will also have a 5,000 mAh battery with 100W fast charging.

OnePlus is advertising the new phone as a “three-chip powerhouse” with longer battery life, impressive graphics and the given premium performance from the Snapdragon. Users will have greater control over the battery charging and OnePlus says it will last 1,600 full charges and discharges while retaining at least 80% of its capacity. That should be enough for four years of use, the company recons.

The major difference between the Ace 2 and the 11R is the UI – in China it will use ColorOS 13, while the global version will boot OxygenOS. The phones will look almost exactly like the OnePlus 11 flagship with one main difference – there is no Hasselblad branding on the back, suggesting a downgraded camera setup.
