OnePlus 8T undergoes durability test

OnePlus made the new 8T official earlier today, and Zack from the YouTube channel has already put it through the paces of his trademark durability test.

As usual, this entails some scratching, burning, and the ever so infamous bend test. If you’re interested in how it’s fared, have a look.

Unsurprisingly, scratch-wise we’re looking at a level six on the Mohs hardness scale, with deeper grooves at level seven. Par for the course when it comes to Gorilla Glass. The sides are metal, as are the buttons, while the speaker grille up top is plastic, glued into place. The burn test killed some pixels after 30 seconds or so.

Structurally, the 8T is sound. There’s some flex to the frame and slight separation to the back glass panel, but nothing pops or shatters, so this one’s a survivor.
