Weve seen Nokias brand on smartphones and smartwatches, but now the company wants to expand its presence. It has signed a contract with Global Icons, a venture from the world of licensing, which would help to extend Nokias expansion beyond smartphones.
Currently, the smartphone brand is owned by HMD Global, who have the rights to research, develop, sell and market their devices as Nokia. Whitings is the company that was first acquired by the Finnish telecom giant, but eventually, the relationship fell apart and now it is operating on its own; OZO Audio is now a product of the AV department at Oppo.
Nokia is a telecommunications leader in the 4G and 5G antenna market, and with the development of next-gen connectivity, we might see drones and other consumer technology and innovations.
David Williams, managing director at Global Icons Europe commented that the licensing company will allow bringing engaging Nokia-branded products experiences, so we are waiting to see what both companies have in mind.
