Nokia 2.3 announced with Android One and 2 days battery life

Nokia today announced the Nokia 2.3, the company’s latest budget Android One smartphone. The Nokia 2.3 will be going on sale today and is priced at €109.

The Nokia 2.3 has a simple, no-nonsense design made out of polymer. The front of the device has a notched 6.2-inch, 720p display with some fairly sizable bezels. On the side the phone features a dedicated button for Google Assistant. The back of the phone has a 3D nano-textured cover with a ribbed pattern for additional grip. The phone will be available in three colors, Cyan Green, Sand, and Charcoal.

The Nokia 2.3 runs on the MediaTek Helio A22 chipset with 2GB of memory and 32GB of expandable storage. It features dual SIM, Wi-Fi 802.11n, Bluetooth 5.0, microUSB, FM radio and headphone jack.

The back of the phone has a dual camera system, with a 13MP f2.2 main camera and a 2MP depth sensor. On the front is a 5MP f2.4 camera that also supports face unlock.

The Nokia 2.3 is powered by a 4000mAh battery, which Nokia claims provides 2 days of battery life. Unfortunately, there is no fast charging support and the phone is only capable of 5W charging.

Like Nokia’s other Android phones, the Nokia 2.3 is an Android One device. Nokia promises 2 years of Android updates and 3 years of monthly security updates. It’s a bit difficult to take these claims seriously, however, as the phone ships with Android 9 out of the box instead of Android 10, and there’s no word on when it will get the update.

Overall, the Nokia 2.3 is a very underwhelming device but it’s meant for the low-end segment of the market and at that price it’s hard to complain a lot.
