Nokia 150 (2023) with IP52 rating and Nokia 130 Music with a large speaker announced

HMD Global is refreshing the Nokia feature phone portfolio with two new models – the stylish 150 and the music-loving 130.

Starting with the Nokia 150 (2023), this phone balances looks with durability. Its body is made out of colored polycarbonate, so there is no paint to flake or scratch off. Also, the phone is rated IP52 (protected against dust and dripping water).

The textured back panel and the metallic (but not metal) function keys on the front elevate the phone’s look. This aside, the 150 has the functionality we’ve come to expect from these phones and not too different from the 150 from three years ago.

There is a 2.4” 240 x 320px display on the front and the phone runs Nokia OS S30+. You can add a microSD card (up to 32GB) to store photos taken with the 0.3MP camera as well as MP3s. There is an FM radio receiver on board as well, plus a 3.5mm headphone jack.

The phone is powered by a removable 1,450mAh battery that charges over, ugh, microUSB (USB 1.1), a charger is supplied in the box. The battery is good for 20 hours of talking or 30 hours of music playback.

The Nokia 130 Music, aka Nokia 130 (2023), should be self explanatory when you see the back. It trades the camera for a larger loudspeaker. Like the 150, this one can play MP3s from microSD card (up to 32GB) or from the FM radio. This phone has a 3.5mm headphone jack and a headset is included in the retail package.

You get the same 2.4” display, same feature phone OS and the same 1,450mAh battery – and yes, the same microUSB charger too. We know these are basic phones, but it’s high time they moved on to USB-C.
