Motorola launches Business Edition versions of the Edge 20 and Edge 20 Lite

Motorola is adding the Edge 20 and Edge 20 Lite to the list of Business Edition phones (the Edge 20 Pro was already on that list). These are based on the same hardware, but with improved security features.

Some of this is already available on the regular editions of the Edge 20 series. Including Lenovo’s ThinkShield technology, which is a suite of hardware and software security features designed to protect against malware, phishing and network attacks. Recently, the company partnered with Zimperium to further improve ThinkShield using machine learning to monitor the device and analyze any threats.

The Business Edition phones will receive two major OS updates and three years of security updates, the same as the regular phones. However, these are also Android Enterprise Recommended. All Recommended phones meet Google’s stringent requirements to participate in the program and have their security patches delivered within 90 days.

Other goodies include an always online mode with “Zero-touch” – the ability to log in remotely and control the phone. When you are at the PC, Ready For gives you access to the phone’s apps on the computer and lets you easily juggle files between the phone and PC.

You can find the Motorola Edge 20 series Business Edition on the Motorola Enterprise website. Do keep in mind that these aren’t meant for individual sales, but are instead to be sold en masse as company phones.
