Motorola announced today that it has enabled Jio’s 5G on its ten eligible devices sold in the Asian country. Those will will operate on up to 13 5G bands on the Jio True 5G network.
Motorola 5G users will be able to use Jio’s 5G stand-alone network that is independent of LTE; they will have “the largest and best mix of 5G spectrum across 700 MHz, 3,500 MHz and 26 GHz bands” and will have flawless connectivity through technologies like 3CA (3 Carrier Aggregation), and 4X4 MIMO.
All Jio users with Motorola smartphones will be able to use the 5G internet whenever the Jio True 5G network is present. A joint press release stated that all phones support all India 5G bands, irrespective of price tier.

Jio True 5G is available in major cities such as Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Varanasi, Chennai, Bengaluru, and others. The full list consists of over 60 cities, districts and regions, and the carrier promised that by December 2023, it will deliver 5G “to every town, every taluka, every tehsil” of India.
There is no information on when Motorola devices will operate on 5G networks by other carriers.
