MIUI 13 scheduled to arrive on June 25, phones from 2019 or newer to get it

The MIUI 12.5 update is still being pushed to Xiaomi smartphones, but the company is already planning the launch of the next version – MIUI 13. According to sources from China, it could be launched in the second quarter, just like every version in the past few years. This time the date is apparently set for June 25.

Xiaomi was known for supporting models that were on the cheaper side of the price spectrum even if they were four years old. However, MIUI 13 (if that is the official name) will not be available to flagships like Xiaomi Mi 9 and Xiaomi Mi Mix 3, as well as popular midrangers like the Redmi Note 8 series and the Redmi 8 lineup.

There’s little public talk about the eventual features of the new user interface. We expect optimized animations, new themes and wallpapers, and plenty of security improvements.
