Meizu 18 series officially arriving on March 3

Meizu is celebrating eighteen years since its establishmen, and this year’s festivities will include a new UI, and new smartphone series, announced over a three-day holiday. A documentary will be launched on March 1, followed by the new Flyme 9 on March 2, and the culmination is on March 3 – two shiny new Meizu 18 smartphones.

The new user interface will be based on Android 11, but according to leaks, the phones will run an older Flyme 8.3 interface, still based on the latest Google OS. Speaking about leaks and rumors, we expect a Meizu 18 with a Snapdragon 870, accompanied by a Meizu 18 Pro, running on the flagship chipset Snapdragon 888.

According to a listing on CCC, the Meizu 18 will have a 4,000 mAh battery with 30W charging, while the Pro will have a 4,500 mAh cell and 40W charging rates, however, none of them will ship with the actual charger in the box – a fad launched by Apple and continued by Samsung and Xiaomi.

The phones might also have a Meizu Watch for a company on the stage, but so far we’ve only seen a patented design and haven’t heard anything about actual specs.
