Lucid confirms Gravity SUV has a ‘substantial order backlog,’ so no widespread discounts

A select few Gravity SUVs were on sale, but don’t expect too many discounts. Lucid Motors (LCID) said the luxury electric SUV still has “a substantial order backlog,” so no widespread discounts are available at this time.

Lucid shuts down rumors of Gravity SUV discounts

No, Lucid is not discounting its electric SUV due to slow sales. Lucid’s communications boss, Nick Twork, confirmed that Gravity still has a “substantial order backlog” despite rumors to the contrary.

Twork’s comments come after Lucid sent an email to community members in the Denver, Colorado, area, offering $3,000 off the electric SUV.

In the email, “Big news— For the first time ever, Lucid is offering a $3,000 incentive on the revolutionary Lucid Gravity SUV.”

Twork clarified that the offer was only for a very limited number of Gravity models at its Cherry Creek studio location due to temporary production constraints, leaving a few vehicles unable to be matched to specific customer orders.

According to Lucid’s communication boss, “there are no widespread discounts on Lucid Gravity,” and the company is focusing on fulfilling existing customer orders.

Lucid said it only had four Gravity models available in the email, all ready for immediate delivery. On its website, Gravity is listed for lease at $1,299 per month, with a $2,000 loyalty offer.

The Gravity Grand Touring is currently the only trim available, priced from $94,900. However, later this year, Lucid will add the lower-priced Touring model, starting at $81,550. Twork said Lucid will reveal more information on the Gravity Touring soon.

After overcoming a supply shortage that hampered production in the first half of the year, Lucid expects the Gravity SUV to account for the majority of output and deliveries in the second half of 2025.

Although many automakers have recently scaled back on EV production plans, Lucid is adding a second shift at its AMP-1 manufacturing plant in Casa Grande, Arizona, as it ramps up gravity output.

Lucid also confirmed it will continue to offer the $7,500 EV credit for Gravity buyers until the end of the year due to the strong order backlog.

With 4,078 vehicles delivered in the third quarter, Lucid marked its seventh straight quarter with delivery growth. Through September, the company delivered a total of 10,496 vehicles, but Lucid doesn’t provide a breakdown of Gravity and Air sales.
