LG trademarks names for its rollable smartphone?

Remember that bizarre patent from LG about a smart pen with rollable display? Well, that might become a thing sooner than we thought. The Korean Intellectual Property Office has approved the trademark of LG Rolling and back in April, the Korean tech giant has also filed several trademarks in the EUIPO (European Union Intellectual Property Office), which sound a lot like names for a rollable smartphone.

The Roll, Bi-Roll, Dual Roll, E Roll, Singature R, R Screen, R Canvas, Roll Canvas and Rotolo are some of the possible names LG’s future device will carry along with the LG Rolling trademarked in South Korea.

The Korean listing classifies the devices as Class 9. Those devices include mobile phones, LED displays, monitors, wearable smartphones, etc. And given that LG has already introduced rollable TVs in the past, it’s only a matter of time before the tech reaches the smartphone market.
