Lenovo Legion Y90 tops Master Lu benchmark, packs 18 GB of RAM and 1 TB storage

Lenovo has been teasing the Legion Y90 since the beginning of the year, but the gaming phone is yet to achieve official status. From what Lenovo has revealed, this will be a performance powerhouse and we have the first unofficial evidence of that.

The makers of the Master Lu benchmark found a Lenovo L71061 in their database and they believe it is the Y90. It posted a running score of 1,110 thousand and a fluency running score of 202.84.

For context, the iQOO 9, another 8 Gen 1 flagship, recently topped the Master Lu charts with a score of 1,070 thousand, the OnePlus 10 Pro scored 967 thousand and the Realme GT2 Pro got 937 thousand.

The phone is equipped with the same Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset as many other 2022 flagships, however, this one will have dual fans for sustained performance. As expected, the chipset is paired with 18 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage.

The Lenovo Legion Y90 will have a huge 6.92” AMOLED display (1080p+, Samsung E4 panel) with 144 Hz refresh rate, 720 Hz touch sampling rate and HDR support. A company employee shared a screenshot showing that the chipset only got up to 38.9ºC (102ºF) after half an hour of 120 fps gaming. That is to say that the Y90 will stand out with its sustained performance (but it does seem to have a small edge in peak performance too).

By the way, there should be tamer versions, the spec sheet published by TENAA mentions 8, 10, 12 and 16 GB RAM capacities as well as 128, 256 and 512 GB storage capacities. The phone should have a sizable 5,300 mAh battery (or bigger) and weigh a hefty 252g.

There is still no clear indication of when Lenovo will make the Legion Y90 official.
