Leaked images offer head to head comparison of the three Galaxy S22 phones

Massive leaks have left few secrets to be uncovered about the upcoming Galaxy S22 flagship family. The latest leak comes from Evan Blass and features images that seem to been intended for the official pages of the phones on Samsung.com.

As such, they offer a nice visual confirmation of all the specs we’ve heard so far. Let’s start with the size. The Galaxy S22 will be the smallest of the three with a 6.1” display and at 146 mm tall, it will be a good deal shorter than the S21 (151.7 mm). The Galaxy S22+ will keep its 6.6” display and overall size, while the S22 Ultra will be slightly shorter and slightly wider than its predecessor as it will accommodate an S Pen in the tradition of Notes. The images below show the exact dimensions in milimeters.

All three will have Dynamic AMOLED 2X displays with 120 Hz maximum refresh rate and HDR10+ support. The S22 and S22+ will max out at 1,300 nits of brightness, while the Ultra will go up to an impressive 1,750 nits.

These images were scraped from the Italian site, so Exynos 2200 is the chipset of choice.

Next up, the cameras. The Galaxy S21 Ultra will stand on top with a 108 MP main camera, 12 MP ultra wide, 10 MP telephoto and 10 MP periscope with up to 100x Space Zoom and Super Clear Glass. The selfie camera will have 40 MP resolution.

The Galaxy S22 and S22+ will share their camera hardware, starting with a 50 MP main camera, 12 MP ultra wide and 10 MP telephoto with 30x Space Zoom (this means 3x optical magnification). The selfie camera remains at 10 MP for a fourth year in a row.

For video, the three phones will be able to capture 8K with “Super HDR” and the best image stabilization on a Galaxy phone yet.

Next up is what we covered yesterday – the Galaxy S22+ and S22 Ultra will support 45W charging (0-100% in 60 minutes), while the vanilla S22 will have to make do with 25W (70 minutes for a full charge).

Chargers will be sold separately, mind you, the retail package will only contain a USB C-to-C cable and a SIM ejector. The only exception is that the Galaxy S22 Ultra will come with an S Pen out of the box (unlike the S21 Ultra).

This is because the S22 Ultra will be the first Galaxy S phone with an integrated S Pen. The S21 Ultra only had support for it, but no place to store it.

The Samsung Unpacked event that will officially unveil the Galaxy S22 smartphones (and Tab S8 tablets) is scheduled for February 9 (Wednesday next week).
