Lava introduced the Blaze 5G last year and at the time it was the cheapest 5G smartphone in the country. It arrived with 4GB RAM, and today the company revealed it is launching a more powerful version.
The new Lava Blaze 5G comes with 6GB RAM and is already listed on Amazon for INR11,499 ($140) introductory price that will later increase to INR11,999 ($145).
The Blaze 5G has a 6.5” LCD with a waterdrop notch and 720p resolution, as well as 90 Hz refresh rate. It is powered by a Dimensity 700 chipset, while the RAM can be extended with so-called “virtual RAM” that borrows memory from the available storage, which is once again 128 GB here.
Other major specs include a big 5,000 mAh battery and a 50 MP camera.
The Lava phone is 5G-compliant, but that does not mean many people will be able to use it. Jio is still developing the next-gen network in 100 major cities, while Airtel is in “key cities and locations”.
The Blaze 5G is a future-proof smartphone, as both carriers promised a proper 5G network by the end of 2023.
