Kuo: Next-gen flagship iPhone to feature sensor-shift image stabilization

According to the latest investor note from Apple analyst Ming Chi-Kuo, next year’s 6.7-inch flagship iPhone (12 Pro Max) will come with some notable camera improvements. Chief among these will be the new five-axis sensor-shift image stabilization for the main camera which we heard about back in December. The new setup will replace the current optical image stabilization for the main camera and allow for shake-free shots while maintaining a slimmer profile.

In addition, the main shooter will boast a large 1/1.9″ sensor and 7P element setup. We recently came across a report that claims the upcoming iPhone 12 Pro and 12 Pro Max will come with new 3D ToF (time of flight) cameras which will help in portrait photography and AR use cases.

Apple’s next Pro iPhones are also expected to bring 120Hz ProMotion OLED panels, mmWave 5G connectivity and 6GB RAM alongside the A14 Bionic SoC. Early estimates predict Apple will ship over 100 million iPhone 12 units globally.
