Chinese Optics manufacture Kamlan has announced, at CP+ 2022, the details of its first lens designed for full-frame sensors, a new 55mm F1.4 lens that will be available for Canon RF, Nikon Z and Sony E mount camera systems.
The manual focus lens is constructed of eight elements in six groups, uses a 13-blade aperture diaphragm, has an aperture range of F1.4 through F16 and has a minimum focusing distance of 30cm (11.8”). Based on the sole image KamLan has shared, it appears as thoguht he lens will have knurled focus and aperture rings.

The lens is set for a March 2022 release, but no pricing information has been made available at this time. For context, KamLan’s second-generation 50mm F1.1 manual lens for APS-C camera systems retails for $249 while its 28mm F1.4 and 21mm F1.8 APS-C lenses retail for $199 and $179, respectively. You can purchase KamLan lenses through the company’s online shop as well as Adorama.
Update (February 28, 2022 at 11am ET): A sentence was removed that speculated on the click/de-clicked nature of the aperture ring on this list. It has been removed.
