Infinix launched the Note 12i back in May in Kenya with the Helio G85 SoC and a 90Hz LCD. Today, Infinix introduced the Note 12i 2022, which comes with a different screen, design, and memory options.
While the Kenyan Note 12i is built around a 6.82″ HD+ 90Hz LCD, the Note 12i 2022 features a 6.7″ AMOLED display of FullHD+ resolution. Infinix doesn’t mention the refresh rate of Note 12i 2022’s screen, so it’s safe to assume it is a 60Hz panel.
Talking about the memory configuration, the Note 12i comes with 4GB RAM and 128GB of storage, whereas the Note 12i 2022 has two options – 4GB/64GB and 6GB/128GB. Both smartphones support storage and virtual RAM expansion, though.
At 7.8mm, the Infinix Note 12i 2022 is 0.5mm thinner than the Note 12i. It’s also lighter than the Note 12i (188g vs. 198g). Plus, the design of its camera island is also different. It has five circles on the back instead of four like the Note 12i – one for the flash and three for the cameras. The fifth one is just for symmetry.

However, the Note 12i 2022’s camera setup is the same as the Note 12i – you get a 50MP primary camera that’s joined by 2MP depth and QVGA units, and the selfie camera uses an 8MP sensor.
The rest of the Infinix Note 12i 2022’s highlights include the Helio G85 SoC, Android 12-based XOS 10.6, and a 5,000 mAh battery with 33W charging. The smartphone also features a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, a 6-layer 3D graphene cooling system, and dual speakers with DTS audio. You also get a 3.5mm headphone jack and a USB-C port.
The Infinix Note 12i 2022’s 6GB/128GB model is priced at IDR2,299,000 ($150/€153) but is available for IDR2,199,000 ($144/€146) in Indonesia through Lazada as a part of the launch offer in three colors. The price of the 4GB/64GB version is unknown, and so is the smartphone’s availability in other markets.
