Noted tipster obtained the preliminary specs and designs of an upcoming entry-level device called the Honor Play 9A. The successor of last year’s Play 8A will offer an improved rear camera setup and much larger 5,000 battery.

The Honor Play 9A will be built around a 6.3-inch IPS display with HD+ resolution and a waterdrop notch for the 8MP selfie cam.

The back houses a 13MP main shooter paired with a 2MP depth helper and LED flash in a rectangular frame. There’s also a capacitive fingerprint reader here.

The Helio P35 chipset sits at the helm paired with 4GB RAM and 64GB or 128GB storage. The battery is expected to come in at a generous 5,000 mAh but will only charge at 10W. The phone will run Android 10 with Honor’s Magic UI 3.0 on top, which means it will ship without Google services. The device is expected to measure 159.07mm×74.06mm×9.04mm and weigh 185 grams.

The Honor Play 9A will be available in green, blue and black colors. There’s no information on pricing and availability currently but we’ll update you as soon as it emerges.
