Today Huawei’s sub-brand Honor took the wraps off of the 30 series – comprised of the eponymous Honor 30, but also the 30 Pro and 30 Pro+. The Honor 30 is powered by the brand new Kirin 985 chipset, which hasn’t been featured on any other devices before – unlike the Kirin 990 5G that’s in the Honor 30 Pro and Pro+.
Given its name, you’d expect its performance to be incredibly close to that of the Kirin 990, but it unfortunately looks like that’s not the case. In fact, it’s closer to the 980, but doesn’t even match that. The Kirin 985 seems to be somewhere in between the Kirin 820 and the Kirin 980, at least according to AnTuTu numbers that have been leaked today.

The Kirin 985 scored 386,045 points, while the Kirin 820 is at 375,720, and the Kirin 980 scores 397,541. The good news for Honor is that the 985 simply destroys Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 765G in this benchmark, with the competing chip only managing a score of 322,826.
