Honor 20 goes live in Malaysia as the Huawei nova 5T

The Honor 20 finally got its official global release after a couple of months of uncertainty and it looks like the phone is making it to Malaysian shores too but under a different name.

In Malaysia, the handset is called Huawei nova 5T and carries familiar hardware – 6.26-inch IPS LCD panel with a punch-hole camera design and 1080 x 2340px resolution. The phone is also powered by a Kirin 980 SoC, 8GB of RAM and offers 128GB of storage.

The camera setup on the back is the same as on the Honor 20 – 48MP camera is f/1.8 instead, 2MP depth sensor, 2MP dedicated macro lens and a 16MP ultra wide-angle snapper. Interestingly, the battery is 3,700 mAh instead of 3,750 mAh. Retains the side-mounted fingerprint reader too.

The available colors for the Huawei nova 5T are Black, Crush blue and Mid Summer Purple. The asking price is $379 and will be available for pre-order starting August 29 while actual sales will begin on September 5.
