HMD teases faster than expected Android 11 rollout for the next batch of Nokia phones

Back in September last year, Nokia shared its update roadmap for Android 11 for most of its phones. Today the company’s CPO Juho Sarvikas teased on Twitter that Android 11 is coming sooner than expected.

That’s at least what we could gather from the post. The Nokia 8.3 5G’s update has already started so we suspect that the rest of the portfolio will start receiving the update soon too. A while back, Counterpoint Research said that HMD was fast to update its portfolio to Android 9 and 10 and while it’s not quite leading the Android 11 rollout it wants to catch up.

To give you a bit of perspective here’s the official update roadmap.

HMD Global publishes, then retracts Nokia Android 11 update timeline

Since the Nokia 8.3 5G already got it, we should expect the Nokia 2.2, 5.3 and 8.1 to follow in the next days and weeks.
