Apple is expected to announce new MacBook Pro 14 and 16 models with updated M2 Pro and M2 Max chipsets alongside new iPad Pro 11 and 12.9 models with the standard M2 chip. Apple TV is also expected to get an update with the Apple A14 chip and 4GB RAM.

Gurman: Apple unlikely to hold in-person October event, no Touch ID on iPhone 15

In addition, Gurman suggests Apple will not bring Touch ID back on the iPhone 15 or any of the upcoming flagship iPhones in the years to come. There is a chance we may see an iPhone SE with a side-mounted Touch ID scanner embedded in the power button down the line. Gurman also mentions that Apple is testing sleep tracking on the HomePod speaker internally at its labs but he did not share how the tracking would work.
