Gimbal manufacturer FeiyuTech has announced a new series of stabilizers called Scorp that feature touch screen controls, electronic focus motors and physical memory buttons to make using advanced functions easier. The Scorp and Scorp Pro models also come with a detachable suspension handle, the ability to shoot upright footage at the press of a button and a 13 hour battery life.
The standard Scorp version is aimed at enthusiast shooters and can hold up to 2.5kg (5.5lbs), while the more hefty Scorp Pro can manage kit weighing up to 4.7kg (10.5lbs). The Pro model can also be controlled remotely via the detachable handle, while the main rear handle of both models houses the touch screen so it can be seen all the time by the operator. This screen can be used to control not only the gimbal itself but also the main features of compatible cameras.

The company claims new motors and algorithms inside the gimbals provide much better stabilization than before, and a new lower centre of gravity makes balancing a new camera and lens set-up much quicker.

SCORP Gimbal with Social Media Modes
The SCORP gimbal is built for smooth video creation for vloggers, content creators, and social media influencers. Featuring a lighter design at 2.6 lbs with a 5.5lb load capacity, the SCORP has a one-touch OLED touchscreen so influencers have instant access to popular social media modes: VLOG selfie, TikTok portrait shooting, Long Exposure Time Lapse, and more. The SCORP Pro’s detachable handle works as a remote control that supports Somatic mode and its integrated hanging handle can be switched to different angles for use in a greater variety of different shooting scenes. The gimbal’s built-in vertical mounting plate allows the camera to be installed on the gimbal in portrait mode without extra accessories and ARCA quick release base plate at the bottom of the gimbal quickly mounts the gimbal on popular quick release systems without re-assembling the camera.
