DxOMArk: Motorola One Zoom has good main camera, bad ultra-wide and telephoto

DxOMark just released its review of the Motorola One Zoom – the company’s most versatile and probably its best camera phone for a while. The review, however, says the cameras can’t compete with more than half of the phones on in DxOMark’s database.

The overall score is 87 and that’s mainly thanks to the primary camera. It has correct exposure, accurate autofocus, it’s capable of nice bokehs and nice exposure with the flash turned on. On the contrary, the telephoto camera struggles with autofocus in medium and long distances.

Additionally, all cameras suffer from limited dynamic range, there are visible ringing artifacts and although accurate, the autofocus is rather slow at times.

As far as video recording is concerned, the stabilization is okay, autofocus locks in quite well in all lighting conditions and the noise is kept pretty low even during the night. Unfortunately, though, detail is low, dynamic range is narrow and color rendering is inaccurate.

All in all, DxOMark says the phone’s camera setup is quite versatile for its price, which is true, but it fails to impress with quality. You can read more about it in the full review at the source link below.
