Cronos: The New Dawn Confirms Bloober Horror for Nintendo Switch 2 Alongside September Release Date

Bloober Team’s twisted sci-fi nightmare, Cronos: The New Dawn, is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 with a release date of September 5, 2025.

The studio revealed its release date plans during today’s July 2025 Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase, narrowing its launch window down to a specific September date. It comes with the news that Cronos is coming to Switch 2 in addition to PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X | S.

Bloober’s update arrived alongside a new trailer showing how Cronos: The New Dawn runs on Switch 2 and the many terrors The Traveler will encounter during their journey through past and future. While it included a look at enemies, time-travel mechanics, and an upgrade system, the real highlight is that the footage offers a fresh look at gameplay following the team’s work on last year’s Silent Hill 2 remake.

“In the future, dangerous creatures born from the remnants of humanity prowl the wasteland,” a description revealed during the Nintendo Direct said. “You’ll need to craft ammo and supplies with limited resources to fend off brutal enemies, but don’t let your guard down after defeating them. If a monster absorbs a fallen enemy, it will evolve into an even more nightmarish form.”

We recently got to go hands-on with Cronos: The New Dawn and came away excited to see more from the new Dead Space-inspired world Bloober has crafted. In our preview, we said, “it feels like Bloober Team has cherry-picked from the best of the genre and fashioned a survival horror beast of its own.”
