Asus ROG Phone 5s and ROG Phone 5s Pro finally launch in India

The Asus ROG Phone 5s and ROG Phone 5s Pro unveiled last August have finally debuted in India, joining the ROG Phone 5 and ROG Phone 5 Ultimate already available in the country.

The ROG Phone 5s comes in Phantom Black and Storm White colors and has two memory options – 8GB/128GB priced at INR49,999 ($665/€585) and 12GB/256GB priced at INR57,999 ($770/€680). The ROG Phone 5s Pro, on the other hand, is only offered in Phantom Black color and comes in a single 18GB/512GB configuration priced at INR79,999 ($1,060/€935). Both smartphones will go on sale in India starting February 18, 2022 through Flipkart.

The ROG Phone 5s duo comes bundled with the ROG AeroCase 5, but it’s only the ROG Phone 5s Pro that comes with the AeroActive Cooler, which is worth INR2,999 ($40/€35) and is available on Flipkart.

The rest of the accessories sold separately on Flipkart include the Armor Lighting Case, ROG Cetra II Core Headset, and ROG Kunai 3 Gamepad priced at INR2,999 ($40/€35), INR3,999 ($55/€45), and INR9,999 ($130/€115), respectively.

The ROG Phone 5s and ROG Phone 5s Pro have identical specs, but the former sports an RGB light on its rear panel, while the latter features a PMOLED display and a touch sensor.

The rest of the specs of this ROG Phone 5s pair include the Snapdragon 888+ SoC, 6.78″ 144Hz AMOLED screen, Android 11, in-display fingerprint reader, stereo speakers, and a 24MP selfie camera. The triple camera system on the back consists of 64MP primary, 13MP ultrawide, and 5MP macro units.

Both smartphones pack 6,000 mAh batteries with 65W charging, but the bundled chargers in India go only up to 30W. Besides, Asus doesn’t sell 65W chargers separately in India so customers will have to rely on third-party adapters to charge their ROG Phone 5s/5s Pro at 65W speeds.
