AstrHori announces $289 40mm F5.6 manual lens for Fujifilm GFX cameras

Optics manufacturer AstrHori has announced the release of a new 40mm F5.6 manual lens for Fujifilm GFX camera systems.

The fully-manual lens offers a 32mm equivalent focal length and is constructed of seven elements in five groups. It uses a five-blade aperture diaphragm, has a minimum focusing distance of 41cm (16.1”) uses a 62mm front filter thread and uses physical rings for both aperture and focus.

AstrHori notes the lens will work with all of Fujifilm’s GFX camera systems, including the GFX 50S, GFX 50S II, GFX 50R, GFX 100 and GFX 100S. Considering there are no electrical contacts of any sort in the lens, no metadata or focus confirmation information will be sent to the camera.

The lens measures in at 79mm (3.1”) in diameter by 38mm (1.5”) in length and weighs just 333g (11.8oz).

The AstrHori 40mm F5.6 lens for Fujifilm GFX camera systems is available today for $289. It comes with front and rear lens caps, as well as a dedicated carrying case.
