Last week the Sony Xperia 1 II started receiving the update to Android 11 in Taiwan, and today the new release has already traveled all the way to Europe.
Reports on Reddit mention this update dropping in both France and the UK. Sony had promised to roll out Android 11 to Xperia 1 II units across the globe by the end of the year, and so here we are.
The version that’s rolling out is 58.1.A.0.926 for Vodafone UK, slightly different from the Taiwanese software build which was 58.1.A.0.921. However, the French models are receiving the 921 build too. You’re looking at a 985MB t0 991MB download over-the-air when this hits your device.
There are a bunch of new features you can expect from the new update, aside from all the goodies that Google’s packed into Android 11. The Cinema Pro app adds support for 4K HDR 120fps video, Photo Pro app adds new MR Mode to set and save frequently used options, there’s 5G+4G dual SIM dual standby support, support for custom options for BatteryCare (from 80% to 90%), screen recording added to the notification bar, and Wi-Fi and hotspot can be used at the same time.
