Amber Heard Photoshopped Injury Photos: Johnny Depp’s Lawyer

Amber Heard

Johnny Depp’s lawyers have accused Amber Heard of editing photos to make her alleged injuries appear worse.

Camille Vasquez, Depp’s attorney, grilled Heard during her cross-examination yesterday and accused the actress of enhancing the saturation to make her face “look more red.”

Hollywood star Depp is suing Heard, his ex-wife, for $50 million in lost earnings after she wrote an op-ed for the Washington Post in 2018 where she stated that she was the survivor of domestic abuse. Despite never mentioning Depp by name, his team argues that the insinuation has extensively damaged his career.

During yesterday’s trial at Fairfax County Courthouse in Virginia, Vasquez pulled up near-identical photographs of Heard’s alleged injuries that were taken on the same date, May 21, 2016.

The images were put up side-by-side and barely are distinguishable from one another, except one picture does appear to have added saturation. Not only is Heard’s face redder, but her hair also appears blonder.

“You testified yesterday that the only difference between these two photographs is that the light was turned on,” says Vasquez.

However, it is clear that the light is on in both pictures, which the attorney, who has become a notable figure during the trial, deftly points out.

Heard claims that the “saturated” image was taken in a vanity mirror that has yellow-hued bulbs, while the other one with less color didn’t have the vanity lights turned on.

“Isn’t it true that you just edited these photographs,” Vasquez says to Heard. “Didn’t you just enhance the saturation to make your face look more red?”

Heard claims to never have edited a photograph and testified that she didn’t touch the image.

The courthouse moment provoked a huge reaction online, with people posting “proof” that the two images are in fact the same image and the only difference is the edit.

One Twitter user uploaded an example of both pictures overlaid on top of each other, which appears to show them lining up perfectly.

“It is the same photo, every hair strand is exactly the same,” one user wrote.

“It would be impossible to turn on a light and have your hair identically in the same position, there is something called gravity,” another adds.

Another person tweeted a tutorial on how to saturate the same picture of Amber Heard’s “injuries” on an iPhone. And the result looked identical to Heard’s “vanity mirror” picture.

The trial continues.
