9 Bitcoin ETFs Accumulate 208,878 BTC Worth $10 Billion, Overshadowing Grayscale’s Sell-Off

Since the conclusion of the spot bitcoin exchange-traded fund (ETF) trading sessions on Feb. 9, 2024, the nine freshly launched ETFs have amassed 6,009.49 bitcoin, valued at approximately $288 million. Concurrently, Grayscale’s Bitcoin Trust (GBTC), which evolved into a publicly-traded exchange-traded product, has sold off about 2,252.2 bitcoin, amounting to roughly $108 million.

New Bitcoin ETFs Amass $288 Million in Assets as GBTC Sells Off $108 Million in Bitcoin Since Friday

The nine freshly unveiled spot bitcoin ETFs — BRRR, BTCW, HODL, ARKB, EZBC, IBIT, FBTC, BITB, and BTCO — continue their bitcoin (BTC) accumulation efforts. According to the latest updates on the holdings of all nine ETFs, they have collectively amassed 6,009.49 BTC, valued at $288 million since Friday. Collectively, these nine ETFs now possess a total of 208,878.1 BTC, valued at just over $10 billion.

Of this total, Blackrock’s IBIT and Fidelity’s FBTC hold a commanding share of 157,213.48 BTC or 75.26% of the total. Specifically, IBIT is in possession of 87,779.82 BTC, estimated to be worth $4.15 billion, while FBTC controls 69,433.66 BTC, with an approximate value of $3.15 billion. As of Feb. 9, 2024, the ARKB spot bitcoin ETF from Ark Invest holds 18,590 BTC, currently valued at about $893 million.

Bitwise’s BITB is responsible for 17,398.13 BTC, valued at $835 million, and the Invesco Galaxy BTCO ETF has 7,568 BTC in its portfolio, worth more than $363 million. Vaneck’s HODL ETF is holding onto 3,337.79 BTC, worth over $160 million, and Valkyrie’s BRRR ETF has secured 2,748.70 BTC, valued at $132 million. Franklin Templeton’s EZBC maintains a reserve of 1,624 BTC, worth $78 million, and Wisdomtree’s BTCW currently holds 398 BTC, with an estimated market value of around $19.12 million.

Since Feb. 9, Grayscale’s GBTC has seen a net outflow of 2,252.2 BTC. At that time, GBTC’s holdings were approximately 468,786.99 BTC, which have since decreased to 466,534.79 BTC. This development indicates that the holdings of the nine new ETFs now represent 44.77% of the total assets managed by the GBTC trust. Since Jan. 12, 2024, 150,545.2 BTC worth $7.25 has left GBTC’s coffers.
