$29K Dodge Charger — is this 50% off EV deal too good to miss?

We talk all about the whys and hows behind the all-electric Dodge Charger failing to light up the sales boards the way it lit up its rear tires, but with a base price around $60,000 it hardly seemed to matter — now that Dodge dealers are slashing prices by nearly 50%, however, is this retro EV finally worth a look?

SKIP THE STORYtake me to the deal!

Having witnessed the sales success of the first all-electric muscle car, I think it’s safe to say that most EV buyers aren’t any more interested in muscle cars than traditional muscle car buyers are in EVs. Now, whether you blame that on divisive politics, culture wars, a particularly fragile grasp on heterosexuality, or the unforgivably stupid “Fratzonic Chambered Exhaust” that lets the whole neighborhood know that daddy’s special boy got a new car is irrelevant, because a nearly sixty-thousand US American dollar coupe was never going to be a volume play, regardless of what was under the hood.

Imagine my surprise, then, when I ran across a brand-new, 2025 Dodge Charger R/T being advertised at just $28,935 — less than half the car’s original $62,685 asking price!

The original listing showed up at Fowler Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and the car seems to still be available as I type this — but if you miss this one, don’t get too sad. You can also snag this $79,680 Dodge Charger R/T Scat Pack with 630 hp and AWD that’s good for 0-60 mph sprints in the low 3-second range for just $47,430.

The deal shows the same “2025 National EV Credit Lease Bonus Cash” offer we highlighted on this Jeep Wagoneer S earlier this month, and combines with an additional $13,500 in dealer-specific discounts to bring Chargers (Scat Pack or otherwise) well below the $50,080 average transaction price for new vehicles in September.

Did I say that the Fratzonic Chambered Exhaust noise speaker was unforgivably stupid? Because, like — for about the same price as a new Civic, I think I can get over it.
